Hmm. . . . where to begin. . . . I am beginning this blogg because, honestly, it seems to be the easiest way to communicate with everyone back home without worrying about forgetting to e-mail or contact someone.
Now that all pretenses are gone, I can now tell you how excited, nervous, scared, anxious, and expectant I am. I have traveled before but it has always been with a group of people and we never stay in one place too long. Studying abroad, however, will, I imagine, be quite different. I am going to be staying for three months in a country where I know some about their government, little about their traditions, and none of their language. I am relieved that I, unlike my sister, will be traveling with a group from my school, however, I do not think that it will make the cultural shock any less impacting.
Currently, I am making lists, packing, finishing some required reading, and keeping my nerves in check (it is waayyy too early to begin to freak out). I am hoping that my two fifty pound bags will be more than enough for me to be able to bring some of home with me to Slovakia. And enough for me to bring a lot of Slovakia back home.
